ABOUT THE COURSE
This presentation will review basic neuroanatomy in a clinically relevant way. It will look at the different affects of neurological compromise in the central and peripheral nervous systems and how to differentiate the 2 types.
We will look at how altered neurological mobility presents and the way neurological pain differs from other types and how to identify it.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Joanne Carswell BPE BMR-PT MCISc FCAMPT
Joanne Carswell began her education at the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Physical Education following that she completed her Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation – Physical Therapy. In 2001 Joanne completed her Advanced Orthopaedic Exam through the National Orthopaedic Division. In 2011 she completed a Masters of Clinical Science through Western University in London Ontario.
Joanne is the owner of Vista Place Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic and St Vital Physiotherapy Sports Injury Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
She is an instructor and an examiner for the National Orthopaedic Division for postgraduate physiotherapy courses and an assistant professor at the University of Manitoba School of Medical Rehabilitation.
Joanne has an interest in concussion assessment and management and in conjunction with this she attended Emory Institute for the Vestibular Competency Course and has been doing vestibular assessment and treatment.
Joanne is accredited to do acupuncture and dry needling for myofascial pain.
