This one day course is designed to teach massage therapists how to tape for most conditions you will see in your practice. Taping in certain ways can help with muscle imbalances, pain, scar tissue, fibrosis and swelling.


Following this training the participants will be able to:
Conceptualize the method of neuro-proprioceptive taping
Make the connection between neuro-muscular physiology and N.P.T. technique
Put in practice application techniques and cutting techniques
Put in practice the most efficient applications for different indications
Use the varied techniques according to different pathologies


Byron Bahniuk CAT(C), RMT

Byron is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Physical Education (1998).  He was a Certified Athletic Therapist in December, 2000, then attended the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy Inc. (2002), and completed the Basic Remedial Massage Program. Byron was the first person in Manitoba to hold certification in Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy. He is also currently pursuing Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba.Over previous years, Byron has gained his clinical experience from his employment at:  Pan Am Clinic (casting tech), Associated Rehab Consultants of Canada – Athletic Therapy, The Balance Point – Athletic Therapy, Therapy & Herbal Alliance – Athletic Therapy /Massage Therapy, Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation Management (U of M) – sessional instructor, Bison Athletic Therapy Centre – Athletic Therapy/Massage Therapy, Team Canada Women’s Volleyball – Athletic Therapy/Massage Therapy.

Byron has also obtained additional education and skills in:  Muscle Energy Techniques (cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine and pelvis), Soft Tissue Release, Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and treatment.

Byron has worked in a variety of amateur and professional sport environments as an Athletic Therapist and Massage Therapist. His most memorable include:

  • Club: Predator Lacrosse, Kisen Volleyball
  • Provincial: Team Manitoba U-16 and U-19 Field Lacrosse, Team Manitoba T&F, Manitoba Major Junior Hockey, Manitoba Summer Games (medical liaison)
  • National: Field Lacrosse Nationals (Alumni Cup), Western Canada Summer games, Can-West CIS T&F championships, CIS T&F championships, CIS Volleyball Championships, Canadian National T&F championships,
  • Junior Football – Canada Cup, Can-West Football final
  • International: Women’s World Hockey Championships, Polish Tour and Pan-American Cup (Team Canada Men’s volleyball), Manitoba Marathon, 2014 Women’s Nation Volleyball Team
